Dressmaking Workshop – Create the Outfit You Want!
This workshop is all about making the outfit of your choice with my guidance. Bring along a pattern you love and the fabric you’d like to use, and we’ll work together to bring your idea to life. It doesn’t have to be a fancy dress – you can make any dressmaking project you like (within achievability for the time we have). Want to create a fun costume for Halloween? Or maybe just a beautiful, wearable everyday outfit? The choice is yours!
If you’re completely new to sewing, we recommend starting with the Beginners’ Sewing Workshop first to build confidence with your sewing machine.
During the session, you’ll learn how to:
- Take accurate measurements (for yourself or someone else)
- Read and trace a sewing pattern
- Cut fabric with confidence
- Piece everything together and sew your garment
By the end, you’ll (hopefully!) go home with a finished outfit you’ve made yourself—and a whole set of new dressmaking skills for future projects.
What to bring:
- Your chosen pattern
- Fabric and any embellishments you’d like to add
- Your sewing machine with accessories and sewing essentials (scissors, pins, tape measure, etc.)
Tip: Please be realistic when choosing your project to make sure it’s doable in the time available.
