Skill level: LEVEL 3 – IMPROVER (You’ve mastered the basics and want to grow your skills with more complex patterns and features.)
What you learn: how to shorten, take in and generally shape your clothing or change waistband, replace zips
- Different ways to shorten hems
- Take in waist/add elastic
- Replace zip
To bring: clothing listed to be altered (please avoid thick materials like jeans or jersey items), necessary extra fabric and notions (zip, matching thread, waist elastic etc)
Equipment: you can hire our sewing machines (at a small fee to cover maintenance costs) or bring your own (which is usually recommended as it is a good practice to get used to your own equipment).
Provided: Tea/coffee and biscuits to keep you going.
Some fabrics, threads, needles, interfacing, elastics and pattern paper can be purchased during your sessions.
NOTE: For any extra purchases, you can pay cash or by card on a day
