Why not upcycle some old T-shirts into something useful – knickers that fit you.
We recommend to do Beginners sewing workshop first if you are not confident in using your sewing machine yet & ideally you already have some experience in dressmaking.
In this workshop we create a pattern block and sew your perfect knickers that fit perfectly.
This workshop focuses on taking body measurements, pattern construction and jersey sewing to give you confidence and practice.
What you will learn:
- How to create pattern block for knickers and how to adapt it
- How to work with jersey and elastic on your sewing machine
To bring:
- your Sewing machine – it must have stretch stitch settings(including your pedal and lead! don’t forget accessories that came with your machine plus bobbins)
- Sewing kit – with the following, pins, scissors, stitch ripper, etc
- An old T-shirt or other jersey item you can use to make knickers (if you buy jersey make sure its stretchy enough. You can use pure cotton or one with 5% elastane. 4 way stretch is recommended)
- Knickers elastic (you can get it here https://amzn.to/43wiJdP – this is my affiliate link)
- Sewing thread
- pencil, pen, ruler / triangle, paper scissors
What’s Included:
- Ball point needles
- Paper to create your block
- Instructions
- Tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep you energised and fuelled
You might want to bring some packed lunch for your little lunch break too as biscuits might not be enough to keep you going.
