Description

Apron Making Workshop

Where: The Clay Factory, Redlake Trading Estate, Ivybridge PL21 0EZ  Plenty of free parking

When: Thursday 12.3.2026 (9:30 AM – 2:30 PM)

Level: Beginners who already know how to operate a sewing machine

In this relaxed and practical workshop, you’ll create a handmade apron from scratch – a useful and stylish piece you can wear yourself or gift to someone special. Why not getting it ready for Mother’s day.

You can choose to use different styles, use applique, apply pockets, use decorative stitches or a ruffle.

You’ll learn:

  • How to measure and cut fabric accurately without using a commercial pattern
  • Tips for cutting straight lines and achieving a neat finish
  • Construction techniques to sew your apron step-by-step
  • Simple methods for adding straps, hems, and clean edges

What to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine (in good working order)
  • Your own fabric for the apron and relevant haberdashery (strap material, buckles, bias binding if needed)
  • Basic sewing essentials (scissors, pins, bobbins, thread, etc.)

*Additional haberdashery items can be purchased from me on the day if needed.

What’s included: Complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep your creativity flowing.

(Workshops are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another date or voucher if cancelled 14+ days in advance.)

Private group bookings for sewing parties are also available — please get in touch for details.
