What My Customers Say About Sewansome

What my customers say about Sewansome

Running Sewansome on my own means I get to work closely with every customer—whether it’s teaching a sewing class, taking in a pair of trousers, or making custom curtains. I really care about doing a good job, and it means a lot when people take the time to leave a review.

Here’s a bit of what people have said after working with me.

“Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable”

This is one of the most common things people say after a workshop. I try to keep all my classes relaxed and friendly, especially for beginners. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to try something new, so I take the time to explain things clearly and work at your pace.

“Absolutely brilliant. Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Came away feeling optimistic that I could create something with confidence.”

I keep my classes small so everyone gets time and attention. Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or you’re coming back to it after years, you’ll be supported all the way.

“Attention to detail is spot on”

When I do alterations or make soft furnishings, I focus on the small details—clean stitching, neat finishes, and making sure everything fits properly. I want the finished item to last and feel well made.

“Excellent and quick service. I was very impressed with the quality of the repair.”

“My roman blinds and cushions look absolutely stunning. The stitching and finish are so professional, and they fit my space perfectly.”

I treat each job like it’s for my own home or wardrobe—and I think that shows in the results.

“Perfect gift for a creative friend”

A lot of people have started giving workshop vouchers as gifts. It’s a lovely way to give someone an experience, especially if they’re creative or want to try something new.

“Bought a sewing workshop voucher for my sister and she absolutely loved it. She hadn’t sewn in years but came back so inspired and confident.”

You can use the vouchers for any of my workshops or 1-to-1 lessons, and they can also go towards buying fabric or sewing supplies.

“My child had the best time!”

I also run workshops for children, especially during school holidays. These are really fun sessions where kids can sew something simple but useful—like a cushion or a bag—and they always leave feeling proud of what they’ve made.

“My daughter made a bag in her first class and was so proud. The teacher was brilliant—very patient and upbeat!”

It’s great to see kids get off screens and learn something practical and creative. Some come back regularly and build up their skills over time.
