Description

Where: The Clay Factory, Redlake Trading Estate, Ivybridge PL21 0EZ (free parking)

When: Saturday 18/4/2026 (9.30am-4pm)

Maximum class size: up to 4 people

Skill level: LEVEL 2 – BEGINNER (You’re comfortable sewing straight lines and curves, but haven’t yet explored presser feet or different techniques) To understand our skill levels, please refer to our guide here.

What you will make: Pattern and your well fitted Pyjama bottoms

What you learn:  

  • Take your body measurements correctly
  • Create your own sewing pattern from scratch for PJ bottoms
  • Make PJ bottoms that fit your perfectly

To bring:  suitable material for PJ bottoms (2m or 1.5m if you have 150cm wide fabric), elastic for waistband (you can purchase this here). Best fabric for PJ bottoms is brushed cotton or cotton – I have some fine 100% cotton fabrics available (you can check them here.) Also bring some paper scissors, matching thread, and T or L ruler for drafting. I have 1 available you can borrow. Paper for drafting the pattern.

Equipment: Ideally bring your own sewing machine (which is usually recommended as it is a good practice to get used to your own equipment). There is one available to hire if you don’t have a sewing machine. You can book it here.

Provided:  Tea/coffee and biscuits to keep you going.

Some fabrics, threads, needles, interfacing, elastics and pattern paper can be purchased during your sessions.

NOTE: For any extra purchases, you can pay cash or by card on a day
