Maximum class size: up to 6 people

Skill level: LEVEL 3 – IMPROVER (You’ve mastered the basics and want to grow your skills with more complex patterns and features) To understand our skill levels, please refer to our guide here.

What you will make: Mitchell trousers by Core Patterns

What you learn: 

Core Dressmaking Skills

• Take accurate body measurements
• Learn how to read and work with paper patterns
• Cut out a paper pattern to size
• Adapt and alter the pattern

Pattern Prep and Planning

• Plan and prepare cloth for cutting
• Cut calico cloth to make first toile (for fitting)
• Evaluate and alter style if required.

Start Working on Your Garment

• Cut your final fabric and begin sewing your chosen garment
• Use all the skills learnt to date to construct a well-fitting design
• Feel free to add details to personalise your garment.
• Your will leave with buckets of knowledge and finished garment that fits you and feels great!

To bring: Your sewing machine, calico to make a toile (or an old bed sheet), fabric of your choice and any notions necessary.

NOTE: Please check pattern sizing prior booking to ensure the pattern accommodates for your size. don’t worry if you waist and hips fall under different size, we will deal with that.

Provided: The pattern costing £20. Threads, needles and pattern paper can be purchased during your sessions.
