This course takes place every Wednesday morning for 5 consecutive weeks (total of 20 hours) – or you can join only per day (£60 or £80), the following dates:

You can now join also just on daily basis, when booking pelase select the one day and email us to confirm which item you want to make with us. One day costs £80 (or £60) and whole course £320
This soft furnishings course is designed for those with some sewing knowledge and would like learn professional way of making curtains, blinds and cushions.
You will make most common type of curtains – pleated, roman blind, piped cushion with zip and boxed cushion. You will also learn about other types and how to measure, cut and hand finish the items.
Provided: refreshments will be provided in the class but please bring some food if you wish. All materials will be included except for cushions, please bring your own inner cushion pad. Plesae bring also boxed cushion to the size you need or you can order through us small size to practice on. If you prefer, I can order any cushion pads for you (feather or polyester).
To bring: sewing machine, thread, sewing essentials such as pins, shears, threads. If you don’t have a sewing machine, please book also sewing machine hire.
Threads, snips, pins, piping cord, zip and other haberdashery supplies are available to buy in the workshop.
- Students for this course should be competent basic sewers and as a minimum should have completed Beginners Sewing Workshop first or have enough basic knowledge of sewing.
Pencil pleat curtains
You’ll be taught by making a small, pleated and lined sample curtain. You’ll leave with 1 finished curtain sample and detailed instructions to follow when you’re going to sew by yourself at home!
You will learn how to make beautiful & professional roman blinds. You’ll be taught by making a small version of roman blind all the tricks of the trade to ensure a neat finish. You’ll leave with 1 finished roman blind sample and detailed instructions to follow.
You’ll practice your sewing skills whilst making a piped cushion cover with the inserted zip. You can also opt for simple patchwork or applique and you can make buttoned closure if you prefer. Basic sewing experience necessary. Please bring one cushion insert you want to use, zip or buttons, thread and fabric you like or scraps of fabrics you wish to tempt the patchwork. You can also bring ideas for applique and some biais tape if you wish to make piped cushion. Feel free to bring also buttons and any trimmings or scrap fabrics you would like to use. You can make patchwork cover or applique too.
Will will make a small bolster cushion getting used to sew in circle and make buttoned opening (or other as you wish)
Will will make a small boxed cushion getting used to inserting the zip and piping.
