Level: Beginners & intermediate (must have basic knowledge of sewing and know how to use a sewing machine). If you are complete beginner, you can come for a quick 2-hour 1-2-1 tuition on Friday afternoon to Plymouth to gain this skill. Please enquire.
Materials: bring material you wish to use for your project.
Maximum student number: up to 8
Class length: 6 hours a day (10am-4pm)
You will need: your sewing machine, sewing essentials (shears, snips, thread, needles, tape measure, ruler, pins). There will be few essentials available to buy in situ.
You arrive at your accommodation at your leisure. The farm is located on the outskirts of Looe, in Cornwall, and offers magnificent views. Friday is your day and you do what you wish and organize your own food. I can give you tips on where to go or staff at the cottage will.
I bring breakfast for 9am the next morning and we all eat together to relax and organize our day. There is no better way than doing this over some coffee/tea and food (please note that I cannot cater for food allergies so if you have any specific dietary requirements, please organize that for yourself). I will bring selection of cereals, breads for toast, some preserves and butter and coffee, tea and milk.
We start sewing workshop at 10am. Lunch will be served in the cottage (or another room we might use for sewing) so we dont have to go anywhere, or in the garden if sun is shining. We should finish sewing around 4-5pm to allow you some time to wind down before dinner. You are free to get dinner out or you can bring some food to cook yourselves in the cottage as there are facilities and some basics will be provided (oil, salt, pepper etc) and I am sure you could buy some fresh eggs from the farm too.
You will have breakfast available in the cottage and we meet again after breakfast to start sewing at 10am. Before lunch, we can continue working on the sewing project we stearted, or we can start another project. This depends on what we choose to do. I will provide you with any information you need to carry on any sewing processes at home. We finish again around 4pm to give you enough time to relax and prepare for your Monday departure.
After this creative break, you will be more confident in sewing and hopefully also make new friends along the way. This is also open to partners who do not wish to participate in sewing.
We really look forward to you joining us. The accommodation is for shared twin or single occupancy rooms, there is a single supplement applied at the time of booking if you do not wish to share the room.
You can choose to pay in two instalments. The first will be taken at the time of booking and we will contact you to take the second payment by mid-May. Failure to make the second payment will mean you forfeit your place.
Note for couples: Feel free to bring your partner. There is plenty for them to do. Your partner will share room with you and share breakfast with us. Lunches wont be included for partners as this will be served in the ‘sewing room’. Please contact us to book yourself with a ‘non sewing’ partner.
Note for locals: You can join us for both days without accommodation and dinner. You just need to bring yourself to Looe and spend whole Saturday with us and come back Sunday for another whole day. (Lunch will be included on both days) Please select ‘workshop only’ when booking’

In the event of a cancellation the customer must advise us immediately, whereupon we will, without prejudice to our right to the balance in full, use our best endeavours to re-use the booking for someone else. If we can re-book (which in the majority of cases we have done) we will return your deposit less any expenses incurred for advertising, office costs, etc., and less any shortfalls in discounted list price. Until such time as a vacancy has been re-booked the customer is responsible for making any further payments by the due dates. Failure to do so may mean that the customer forfeits any refund if the 'retreat' is re-booked. If we cannot re-book, all payments including the balance are still payable by the due date(s). It is unlikely that a refund can be made for a late cancellation.
