In our spacious and bright workshop in Plymouth, Devon, you can learn to sew by having 1-2-1 or group sewing workshops. Beginners and novices are welcome age 8+ to adult. Training can be organized to suit your needs and skill.
We help beginners to learn sewing and people with previous experience to refresh sewing skills and gain lost confidence.

Sewing lesson: we will make an item of clothing of your choice (or more if you manage in a given time). I will provide you with the list of patterns to choose from to ensure the workshop is manageable (you will have choice of skirt, trousers or simple dress that you can adapt to suit you). If you wish to make children’s clothes or men’s clothing please get in touch to discuss.
3 nights accommodation (Friday – Monday)
Friday: Your free day to allow you to settle in and to explore surroundings
Saturday: Breakfast, Lunch + sewing workshop
Sunday: Breakfast, Lunch and Free evening + sewing workshop
Monday: Your departure
2 Full days of sewing tuition (including some materials). These workshops are suitable for complete beginners and for intermediate level and will start 10am and finish around 4pm on both days (Saturday and Sunday)
(Accommodation has own kitchen so you can cook up your own meals on Friday or we can recommend where to go nearby, or organize a meal for you at extra cost)

Friday: arrival; anytime that suits you.
Saturday: we meet for breakfast at 9am (thats when I bring it all fresh) and we start at 10am. Finish around 4pm.
Sunday: You have breakfast without me and we start 10am – finish 4pm.
Monday: your departure
You can opt to pay in 2 installements. You pay first part at the time of booking and second part should be paid before the end of July to secure the place. Please select the correct option when booking at the bottom of the page. You will get an email reminder and bank details to pay the second part of booking. You can book online or email and we sort out the invoice and payment by BACS.
Note for locals: You can join us for both days without accommodation and dinner. You just need to get yourself to Looe and spend whole Saturday with us and come back Sunday for another whole day. (Lunch will be included on both days) Please select ‘workshop only’ when booking’
Skirt making workshop
In this workshop you get your own pattern to use and take with you home to use again on your own. We will make basic pencil skirt or you can create an A-line skirt or panel skirt from the same pattern when we learn how to adjust it. Bring your material and zip and make sure you bring your invisible zip presser foot with your sewing machine. Provided: tea, coffee, biscuits.
Trousers making workshop
In this workshop you get your own pattern to use and take with you home to use again on your own. We will make this fitted pair of trousers together and learn how to adjust the pattern. You can choose to make it into wider fit or jupe cullote style. Bring your material and zip and make sure you bring your invisible zip presser foot with your sewing machine. Provided: tea, coffee, biscuits and lunch with a glass of light wine :)

In this workshop you get your own pattern to use and take with you home to use again on your own. We will make thi vintage Betty dress.
