New workshops and sewing holidays

After few moves of my business, I have decided to keep the cost down and work from home. We built a lovely ‘shed’ at the bottom of the garden in your home in Plympton, where we are based (I will post photos of the outside later when the garden is finished). Meanwhile, here is some photo of my working space.

Since then, I have made some blinds and curtains too, and we still have few jobs to do to make it finished. Despite this, space is well equipped for my sewing work and for running sewing workshops and 1-2-1 sewing lessons.

You can view the list of workshops in the online workshop calendar and you can see the planned sewing holidays here.

All the classes I run are professional and you get away with a lot of technical information. I have A-levels in fashion design, Diploma in Soft furnishings and curtain making and a teaching qualification.

Sewing workshops 2018

New sewing workshops and new dates for 2018.

I have decided to deepen dressmaking workshops. I am splitting it into 4 categories: skirt making trousers making, dressmaking and top making. Each workshop will teach you not only to work with the pattern but also to adapt the basic pattern. You will realize you can work more widely using only basic patterns instead of relying on finding a pattern that reflects exactly what you wish to make.

Check this sewing workshop calendar for future dates. But here is the outline:

Beginners workshop 12/5/2018 (it is necessary to have basic sewing knowledge before dressmaking workshops)

Trouser making 30/6/2018

Skirt making 11/8/2018

Dress making workshop 20/10/2018

Also, remember there will be a sewing retreat 28/9/2018-1/10/218 where you can join for 2 days workshop only if you are in the area (near Looe).

Sewing retreat 2018

Remember, our special offer for Early bird ends 1st of June 2018 for our sewing retreat. You can book it here or you can get in touch to book. You join this sewing holiday if you are nearby (or local) and simply book ‘workshop only’ which gives you access to the 2 days of sewing with us. We will be making chosen piece of clothing and adapt it to what we like (within limit). After this sewing weekender, you go away with deeper knowledge and high confidence in sewing plus your own self-made clothing you will proudly wear and hopefully, some new friends.

Sewing lesson: we will make an item of clothing of your choice (or more if you manage in a given time). I will provide you with the list of patterns to choose from to ensure the workshop is manageable. There will be choice for different body shapes and different items (skirt, top, trousers or dress). If you wish to make children’s clothes or men’s clothing please get in touch to discuss.
