My journey:

I was lucky to be born at a time when mothers taught all their practical skills to their children, and I started to learn handcrafts from a very early age. Coming from a creative background (most of my family are engineers and dad is an architect with also fine art degree), I am naturally creative and explorative.
At college, I studied fashion design alongside the history of art, coupled with business management and languages. As a keen traveller, I’ve gained valuable insights into many cultures and countries. My passion for creativity, which I once looked upon only as my hobby, has now become my career, through which I constantly strive to perfect my skills.

Working for myself started in 2006 when I started photography. In my photography I focus on people but I also fulfil interior, commercial and weddings. This knowledge coupled with marketing and design experience was a huge asset when I decided to set up SEWANSOME. In 2020, I also set up additional website MAGUSHI that focuses on Interior design and related services.

SEWANSOME journey started in Cornwall but since 2012 I relocated the business to Plymouth. Since, I have acquired Certificate in Teaching adults, finished further qualifications in upholstery, 3D printing and laser cutting and obtained Diploma in Soft furnishings. In 2020, I obtained BA (Hons.) in Interior design.

Shortly after beginning SEWANSOME, I discovered a high interest in and demand for sewing tuition, so I began to offer sewing workshops and 1-2-1 lessons. To top it all off, I also offer gift vouchers for those who would like to purchase a workshop or sewing lesson for someone else.
